Holiday Celebration - This Wednesday
|
We look forward to seeing you and your family at our annual tree lighting and holiday celebration. Join us as we gather with kids from local after-school programs to learn about various holiday traditions and enjoy hot cider and home-made cookies. We'll be joined by children from the Parks Dept. after-school program which is held in the park house at 123rd Street. Judging by the exuberence of last year's kids, it promises to be quite a merry gathering!
This year our revelry will again be supplemented by the beautiful voices of Bacchantae from Barnard College.

A Year End Appeal
The holiday tree lighting event is a perfect example of programming in support of our mission to revitalize the park. The celebration brings park users together from all sides of the park to appreciate each other, our diverse holiday traditions and the shared historic park in our midst. We can't do this or any of our other programs in the park without your contributions!
We are an all-volunteer organization which means that none of your donation goes toward overhead. Every cent goes directly to support the park and our programming. A $500 contribution might be a drop in the bucket for a larger cause but could adequately support an entire event like the tree lighting in Morningside Park and provide holiday lighting to the park community throughout the season!
A $300 contribution would be enough to pay for the holiday lights on our tree or the additional lights that we will be installing this season at the plaza at 112th Street and Manhattan Ave. overlooking the south end of the park. Contributions at all levels are appreciated and put to good use whether to buy bags for our dog cleanup stations around the park or fund a $7,500 tractor mower for the ball fields as we did last year.
Donating to our 501(c)3 organization is EASY. Just click here to make a secure donation using your credit card, or mail a check to:
