About

Brad joined the Friends of Morningside Park as a volunteer in 2000. His first roles with the organization were contributing photos and building the organization's first web site. In 2005 he helped bring the Farmers Market to the park and in 2006 he helped organize the Friends first fundraiser. Brad has served in a number of roles in the organization including stints as Secretary and more recently as President. Brad has also represented the Friends of Morningside Park on the Historic Harlem Parks Coalition (HHPC) since 2001. Brad served on Manhattan Community Board 9 from 2006-2016 and during that time served as First Vice Chair and Chair of the Parks Committee. In recent years Brad has led the fundraising efforts for the HHPC's signature Harlem Youth Gardners program launched in 2020.

LET'S CONNECT

Friends of Morningside Park advocates for the maintenance and improvement of the Park by raising funds, coordinating volunteers, and offering programs for the community.

 

We promote the enjoyment and responsible use of the park through an extensive set of programs which over the years have included arts and cultural festivals, a farmers market, film screenings, public art displays, musical and theatrical performances, sports tournaments, community picnics, park cleanups and plantings, tree lightings and holiday events.

Friends of Morningside Park is a private, not-for-profit organization, and is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal EIN (tax ID) number is 13-3155238. Our current tax return may be found here and our bylaws are here
